Who:
Sirocco the Kakapo is one of 86
remaining kakapo on Earth.  
He is a very personable parrot
and a joy to behold.

How:
A boat will depart Halfmoon Bay
Wharf at dusk and bring you to
Ulva Island.  You will be provided
with a flashlight, and an
interpretive guide will lead you to
Sirocco's enclosure.

Cost:
$90 per adult
$50 children 5-14 yrs
Sorry, no  children under
five years of age.

Why:
The Ulva Island Trust
wishes to educate people
first-hand about this remarkable
bird.  Any profits go to Trust
projects which include trail
maintenance on Ulva Island (a
predator-free bird sanctuary),
and the reintroduction and care
of endangered bird and plant
species.
